Carlson and Prentice earn GNAC athlete of the week, Saints earn National Ranking while at Notre Dame September 23, 2003 The Saints teams have competed in three Invites this year and are off to a good start. Nate Carlson was the First Saint Martin's Cross Country Runner to get GNAC Cross Country Athlete of the week, for the week of September 15th. Andy Prentice was named GNAC Cross Country Athlete of the week, for the week of September 23rd. The Saints started their season off at the Emerald City Invite on September 6th this year out of of eight teams the Men came up with a 5th place win Andy Prentice would get 19th and Freshman Tris Obluck would come in 21st with a time of 28:28. Coach Hooper would hold Nate Carlson back to run with the 4th and 5th runners. The Women would come up with the 6th place win out of eight teams. Kendra Steinbrugger would come in 34th and Ann McCanick would come in 36th with a time of 21:11. This past weekend the team went to the Catholic College Championship. Andy Prentice a Junior from Nine Mile Falls, WA would place 30th out of 217 runners, including eighth among Division II Athletes. " With our #1 runner not having a great day, he took it on his back and really pushed it hard", said Coach Hooper. Freshman Tris Obluck would also have a great weekend at Notre Dame, he ended up getting 1st with a Notre Dame runner out of all the freshman at the meet. The Women had a weekend of battle and are getting ready for Sundoger Invite on the 27th.
