Obluck Sets Record As Saints Get Faster At Willamette Invitational October 8, 2003 Tris Obluck was the GNAC's top freshman performer at the Willamette Invitational Cross Country meet. He placed 35th with a time of 25:29 on the 8,000 meter course. His time sets a new Saint Martin's College record for a freshman. Senior Nathan Carlson was the Saints top runner and placed 33rd with a time of 25:28, his best of the season. In a gutsy performance, Junior Andy Prentice fought-off illness to net the Saints third top time of 26:13. Seth Woods and Robbie Wilbur ran career best times with 27:25 and 28:06 respectively. Overall the men's team placed 14th out of the 34 teams present. The Women finished 24th out of 31 teams, and continue to show improvement as the season develops. "It has been very interesting in our women's top 3," said coach Brad Hooper. "Kendra [Steinbrugger, Jr], Ann [McCanick, Jr], and Nicole [Beatty, So] have been switching spots all season. We have had a different 1, 2, 3 all year. But, they are getting faster every week. That is the important thing." Steinbrugger led the team with a season best time of 19:39 in 96th, McCanick had a season best time of 19:57 in 118th, and Beatty finished 125th with a time of 20:00 in the 5,000 meter race.
