Saints wrap-up record season with top-ten showing at regionals November 19, 2003 Another successful season is in the books for the Saint Martin's cross country teams. At the regional finals, hosted by Cal-Poly Pomona, the Saints men secured a top-ten finish as Freshman Tris Obluck set a new school record for a cross country 10K. Obluck ran the course (6.2 miles) in 33 minutes and 34 seconds to take 25th in the region. His performance was second in the region among Freshmen. Senior Nate Carlson finished 33rd with a time of 34:01 and Junior Andy Prentice crossed the finish line at 34:06 to place 36th. Earlier in the season Prentice set the school record in the 8K and Carlson set the school record for most top-ten finishes. Officially, the men placed ninth overall in the region. The women placed 21st and were led by Junior Kendra Steinbrugger. Steinbrugger ran the 6K course in 24:33 to take 62nd. Nicole Beatty (So.) placed 88th and Ann McCannick (Jr.) placed 93rd with respective times of 25:15 and 25:26. Coach Brad Hooper offered a simple sentiment when reflecting on his 2003 campaign and his runners, "I am very proud of how they raced. I love my Saints!!"
