Cross Country: Riak picks up second win of the season

Seattle, WA – John Riak took first at the UW
Sundodger Meet men’s 8k open to earn his second win in as many meets
Saturday at Lincoln Park.
Riak pulled away on the last of the four loops to
cross the finish line in a time of 24:35, 15 seconds ahead of the second
place finisher.
As a team the men finished 10th out of 20 schools at
the meet. Josh Gatbunton was the Saints’ second finisher in 65th place
with a time of 26:54. Tris Obluck was 76th at 27:01 while Steven La
Londe finished 84th at 27:07. Nick Harvey posted a time of 28:19 to
finish 142nd. Kevin Tober finished 197th and Bryan Gerry 199th with
times of 32:10 and 32:27 respectively.
On the women’s side Jessie Dunnam posted the Saints’
highest finish with a time of 23:01 to place 20th. Krinda Carlson, Annie
Laweryson and Helen Camden all ran 6k PR’s in the race. Carlson finished
42nd with a time of 23:44, Laweryson was 53rd at 24:04 while Camden came
in 60th at 24:12.
Kaleigh Bishop posted a 25:23 to finish 95th.
Freshman Karissa Owen and Ninalynn Benitez, who ran in their first ever
college 6k, placed 116th and 137th with times of 25:23 and 26:02
respectively.
The Saints’ get set to host their home invitational
this Saturday on the SMU Campus.
