Men’s Golf: Saints 14th at Thunderbird Invite

Goodyear, AZ – The Saint Martin’s men’s golf team
shot a team total 902 to finish 14th in the two-day, three-round Grand
Canyon Thunderbird Invitational Tuesday at the Palm Valley Golf Club.
Hiro Nezu posted the Saints’ highest finish of the
tournament shooting a 222, including a one-under par 71 in the second
round, to place 38th.
Justin Lanman finished 53rd after shooting a 225
while John Eisentrout shot a 229 putting him tied for 66th.
Olof Rosborg and Chris Poulakidas were 66th and 81st
respectively. Rosborg shot a 229 and Poulakidas a 233.
Wayland Baptist University won the event by four
strokes over Central Oklahoma after two WBU players shot under-par in
the final round and finishing with a team total 845. Wayland’s Kevin
Stinson shot an eight-under 64 in the final round to finish with a 205,
three ahead of teammate Jeff Dagg and Western Washington’s Jake
Koppenberg for the individual title.
The Saints next tournament will be April 6-8 as they
take part in the CSUMB Otter Invitational.
