April 15, 2006 Ellensburg, WA --- The Saint Martin's University men’s and women’s track and field teams finished in ninth and eighth place respectively at the Spike Arlt Invitational Track and Field Meet on Saturday at Tomlinson Stadium. In the team standings, SMU women garnered 26 points, while the Saint men earned 21 points. The Saint women were led by the second-place effort of Lakita Burr (Jr., Lakewood, WA) in the 400 hurdles (1:06.56). Janelle Probst (So., Spokane, WA) finished third in the 5000 (19:39). Chelsi Claussen (So., Shelton, WA) finished fourth in the 100 (13.04) and sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:08.40). Nicole Beatty (Jr., Port Angeles, WA) finished fifth in the 3000 steeplechase (13:19) and Jessica Pendon (Fr., Spanaway, WA) finished ninth in the 400 hurdles (1:10.43). On the men’s side, John Riak (Fr., Lacey, WA) finished second in the 1500 (4:05.8). Josh Timmer (So., Tacoma, WA) finished fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.41) and 400 hurdles (57.67) and sixth in the men’s long jump (20-5). Robbie Wilbur (Jr., Spanaway, WA) finished ninth in the 5000 (16:45.70). Host Central Washington University won both team titles.
