Women’s Basketball: Saints fall to No. 5 ranked North Dakota

Grand Forks, ND (November 27) – Saint Martin’s was
held to a 32.3 shooting percentage as they were defeated by the
University of North Dakota, 94-54, Monday night at the Ralph Engelstad
Arena.
UND jumped ahead early going up 13-0 with under
thirteen minutes left in the half before the Saints got their first
basket on a jumper by Breanne Lindquist. The Sioux went into the break
up 40-22. The Saints were up and down for most of the game. They were
able to pull within nine on three separate occasions but could not get
any closer and trailed by as many as 44 at one point. NDU scored 38
points off of turnovers to the Saints’ 10.
North Dakota had five players in double figures. Val
Sannes led the Sioux with 17 points, while Kayla Bagaason added 16. Also
in double figures were Kierah Kimbrough with 14, Ashley Langen with 12
and Kelsey Maffin with 10.
Jamey Gelhar and Jessi Reome led the Saints with 12
each. Breanne Lindquist had eight points and Whitney Golob pulled down
seven rebounds.
The Saints come back home to take on the University
of Hawaii-Hilo this Thursday at the SMU Pavilion.
