Women’s Basketball: Saints defeated by Seattle Pacific

Seattle, WA (January 13) – Seattle Pacific
University had four players in double figures on their way to an 82-49
victory over Saint Martin’s Saturday night at the Brougham Pavilion.
Seattle Pacific, who shot 55.6 percent from the
field, led the entire game. The Falcons jumped out to an early in the
first half. They scored the first four points of the game and with the
score 14-7 the Falcons went on a 14-4 run to get their led to 17 with
just over eight minutes left in the half. The Saints went into the break
down 40-24.
The second half was much of the same as the Falcons
continued to build on their lead. The Saints shot only 31 percent
(18-58) from the field and 22.2 percent (2-9) from three-point range.
Jamey Gelhar had a game high 16 points and was 6-6
from the line. Krissy Bassett added eight points and Amber Harmon had
seven. Whitney Golob posted six points and pulled down seven boards.
The Falcons were led by Rachel Strand with 15 points
and nine rebounds. Kelsey Hill and Jackie Hollands had 14 points each
with Hill adding seven rebounds. Autumn Fielding put up 11 points.
The Saints head back home to take on Seattle
University on Thursday the 18th in the first game of a women’s and men’s
double header at the SMU Pavilion.
