February 4, 2008 Lacey, WA – Saint Martin’s freshman forward Dara Zack has been named as the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week for Jan 27-Feb. 2. Zack picked up her first two career double-doubles last week, helping lead the Saints to road victories at Seattle University and Montana State Billings. “What a great, well-deserved honor for Dara and for the program,” said head coach Tim Healy. “She clearly is coming into her own at the right time of the year. I am not sure I have ever coached a freshman with the work ethic and competitive drive that she possesses.” She had 24 points and 13 rebounds and snapped a 60-60 tie on a jumper with 4.5 seconds left in overtime to beat Seattle on Thursday. On Saturday she dropped in 13 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in a 68-67 win over Billings on Saturday. In the two contests, Zack finished with 37 points and 23 rebounds, shooting at a 62.5 percent clip (15-24). “She works hard to push herself and her teammates every day and I enjoy having the opportunity to be her coach,” said Healy. “She clearly, has a very bright future!”
