Women’s Basketball: Saints drop road game at Central

Ellensburg, WA – In a game in which the lead changed
eight times in the first half, Central Washington took control in the
second half to defeat Saint Martin’s 73-65 Saturday night at the
Nicholson Pavilion.
Neither team was able to establish more then a five
point lead in the first half but a three-pointer by Dara Zack and a made
free throw by Krissy Bassett would send the Saints into the break up by
three.
The Saints were able to maintain their slight edge
to start the second half, but down 50-47 with 10 minutes to play Central
hit three consecutive treys as part of a 16-0 run to give the Wildcats
an 11 point advantage with 7:34 left.
Central built their lead to as much as 14 down the
stretch and never let SMU get to within less than seven.
The Wildcats had four players in double figures led
by Maras with 22. They also got 13 each from Hanna Hull and Kristina
Klapperich.
Kassie Ludeman led the Saints with 12 points and
seven rebounds while Sade Smith added 10 points. Dara Zack had nine
points and pulled down seven boards.
CWU shot 47.6 percent from three point range making
10 of 21. They also edged out the Saints on the boards 36-33.
Saint Martin’s returns home this week to take on
Montana State Billings Thursday night at the SMU Pavilion.
