Laraisse leads Saints in Arizona as women's team golf returns to SMC October 4, 2004 Saint Martin's, in their first team competition since the 2001-02 season, placed ninth (686) at the Grand Canyon Women's Fall Invitational held on September 27-28th in Goodyear Arizona. The revamped program, coached by Saints athletic director Bob Grisham, was led by Sophomore and Tacoma C.C. transfer Maria Laraisse. The Moroccan native carded 81 in the first round and followed with an 86 on day two to tie for 26th. Also scoring for the Saints were Bridgette Kennedy (31st, 169), Stacie Henden (T-34th, 172), Lisa Kurtzman (41st, 178), and Wendy Matson (45th, 215). Western Washington University won the invite with a team total of 615. The Saints will get two more looks at the Vikings this week as they host a dual match with Western on Tuesday and travel to Bellingham this weekend for the Western Washington Invitational.
