October
6, 2006
Portland, OR (October 5) – The Saint Martin’s
women’s golf team fell to Concordia University by one stroke, 337-338,
at the Heron Lakes Golf Club on Thursday.
The medalist for the event was SMU’s Stacie Henden
who shot an 80 for the round, beating out Concordia’s Miranda Silva by
two strokes. Babe Prante shot an 83 and Maria Laraisse finished with an
87. Lauren Roberts and Alexi Coltom both carded an 88.
“As a team we struggled with making our shot on a
difficult course,” said head coach Bob Grisham. “Stacie had a great
round, for her to come out on top and be medalist for the match was
great to see.”
The Saints compete again this coming Monday and
Tuesday when they travel to Bellingham to take part in the 5th Annual
Viking Invitational.
