April 26, 2007 For the first time since being a member of the NCAA Saint Martin’s women’s golf has qualified for the post season. Junior Babe Prante qualified as an individual to compete in the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament hosted by St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX, April 30- May 2. Prante finished the regular season ranked 12th in the region and is one of only three individuals selected to compete in the tournament. “This is a nice accomplishment for Babe to advance to regional play and be the first female golfer to advance to the post season at the NCAA level,” said head coach Bob Grisham. The tournament field is composed of six qualifying teams plus the three qualifying individuals and is scheduled for three 18-hole rounds of play. As a team the Saints finished seventh in the region falling just shy of a spot in the tournament.
