Women’s Soccer: Saints shutout by Redhawks

Federal Way, WA – Due to field conditions at the
Saints regular home field, Saint Martin’s played host to Seattle
University at Decatur High School Sunday afternoon and came away on the
losing end as the Redhawks shutout the Saints 4-0.
The score remained at zeros for most of the first
half until the Redhawks got on the board in the 38th minute. Leah Wymer
was able to send in a shot off a deflection. SU took the 1-0 lead into
the break.
Seattle would quickly pick up another goal in the
second half just over a minute in when Kara Kuttler scored off another
deflection. Kahlyn Keilty-Lucas was credited with the assist; she would
go on to score the Redhawks third goal of the game at the 55:06 mark.
SU’s final goal came in the 88th minute as Megan Fogarty sent it into
the far post.
Seattle sent 29 shots at the SMU goal and Saints’
keeper Breanna Klasen, who spent nearly 75 minuets in goal, had 15 saves
on the day.
The Saints next game will be Saturday, October 27th
against Western Washington University in Bellingham.
