Gainful employment

Below is information regarding several of our programs including: guidance and counseling certification only, administration certification only, added endorsement and teacher's certification.

The information includes possible careers, normal time of program completion, tuition, housing and fees, and placement rates for students that gain their certification. This information is from students that completed their certification in 2011-2012.

Added endorsement

  1. Typical careers:
    1. Elementary, Middle and High school teachers adding an additional endorsement to their certificate. (example of SOC codes*: 25-3099, 25-2021, 25-2022, 25-2023, 25-2031, 25-2031, 25-2022, 25-2053, 25-2052, 25-2054)
  2. Normal time of Program completion:
    1. Average time is six months.
    2. Time range is three months to one year.
  3. Tuition and fees
    1. Tuition per year and for the certification as a whole varies depending on what endorsement you are obtaining. During 2011-2012 the average tuition for obtaining an added endorsement was $5,640.
    2. Books/supplies per year: $500 - $1,000
    3. Campus room and board per year: optional
      1. Decline campus room and board: $0
      2. Accept campus room and board: $4,910 - $6,975, depending on meal plan choice and single/shared room.
  4. Placement rate for completers:
    1. 2011-2012: zero percent, one individual completed the program and is currently seeking a position.

Administrative certification only

  1. Typical careers:
    1. Principal at an high school, middle school or elementary school. (SOC code*: 11-9032)
    2. Assistant principal at a high school, middle school or elementary school.
    3. Program directors/coordinators (SOC codes: 11-9030 and 11-9039):

  2. Normal time of program completion:
    1. Average time is one year and four months.
    2. Time range is one year to two years.
  3. Tuition and fees
    1. Typical tuition for completing the program is $17,860.
    2. Books/supplies per year: $500 - $1,000
    3. Campus room and board per year: optional
      1. Decline campus room and board: $0
      2. Accept campus room and board: $4,910 - $6,975, depending on meal plan choice and single/shared room.
  4. Placement rate for completers:
    1. 2011-2012: 100 percent, all completers have placements.

    5. Teaching in community college education and psychology programs (SOC code: 25-1194)

    1. Average time is one year and four months.
    2. Time range is seven months to two years.
  3. Tuition and fees
    1. Tuition for program completion is typically around $20,680.
    2. Books/supplies per year: $500 - $1,000
    3. Campus room and board per year: optional
      1. Decline campus room and board: $0
      2. Accept campus room and board: $4,910 - $6,975, depending on meal plan choice and single/shared room.

    1. Tuition per year and for the certification as a whole varies depending on what endorsements you are obtaining. Tuition for the certification will cost roughly $56,800.
    2. Books/supplies per year: $500 - $1,000
    3. Campus room and board per year: optional
      1. Decline campus room and board: $0
      2. Accept campus room and board: $4,910 - $6,975, depending on meal plan choice and single/shared room.
  4. Placement rate for completers:
    1. 2011-2012: 100 percent, all completers have placements
