Academic Success Workshops
Academic Success Workshops are opportunities for
students to gain both academic and life skills in an informal
setting. They are held throughout the year and cover topics that
help students, particularly those new to the University, learn
about their campus home, manage academic programs and adjust to
university life. Download this semester's
schedule. Register for workshops by completing this short
form.
Academic improvement
Do you want to learn new and effective ways to enhance your
learning? Would you like to improve your academic performance in
test-taking, note-taking, or other study skills or behaviors?
Set up an individual appointment with the Learning Center staff
for guidance on how to develop strategies based on your own
learning styles and needs.
Students may be referred to take assessments such as the
Learning and Study Skills
Inventory (LASSI) during their individual appointments.
Early Alert
The Early Alert program is a component of student success which
supports student learning by identifying students who may be at
risk of academic difficulty or failure. Students are most often
referred by faculty via an online form. Outreach will be
provided after this form is submitted, with a focus on
connecting students to campus resources that will support their
academic success.
