Peer Tutoring

Academic Peer Tutoring
Academic peer tutoring is available at no cost to Saint Martin's students in many subject areas including accounting, biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, engineering, finance, physics, math and world languages. The Saint Martin's Learning Center runs a nationally-certified peer tutoring program. All tutors are recommended by faculty in their field of study.

Availability of Tutoring
Tutoring services are available Monday - Friday on a drop-in basis for Math and by appointment for other subjects. The Math Drop-In Schedule for Fall 2008 can be accessed by clicking on the previous link. An updated tutoring schedule is always posted on the bulletin board outside of Room 214, Old Main. See Finding a Tutor below for links to individual tutor schedules. If you need help with academic writing, you can make an appointment with a peer reader.

How to Get Tutoring Help

Signing up for Tutoring: To take advantage of tutor services, you can come in and sign up for an appointment in Room 214, Old Main. You can also call the tutor line at (360) 486-8880 to make an appointment, or you can contact the tutor directly via email. All students requesting tutoring will be asked to submit a tutoring request/student information form once per semester.  This form can be filled out online, or you can download and print a copy.

Preparing for Tutoring: In order to gain the greatest benefit from tutoring we ask that you attend all classes, keep current with reading, attempt assignments ahead of time, and bring all materials to tutoring sessions.

Evaluating Our Tutors: We invite you to complete an evaluation of your tutoring experience at the end of each semester. To complete a tutor evaluation, click on Tutoring Evaluation Form.
