Presented by Saint Martin's University Hui O Hawaii Hui O Hawaii, Saint Martin’s University Hawaiian Club presented the annual Luau on Saturday, April 22 to a record crowd of over 900 people in the Saint Martin’s Pavilion. The Luau, organized and presented by the Club involved students and community members in the planning, cooking, and serving of the traditional Hawaiian feast.
Friends, family and community members Monica and Duane Nakahashi, Susan Gomes, John Pacubus and Chris Palmer helped the students get authentic Hawaiian foods sent over from Hawaii. Entertainment was provided by students, Kaulaili Kihoaki string band and Little Big Man, an island-style local band founded by SMU graduate, Raphael Tesorio.
