Ellensburg, WA – Saint Martin’s third baseman Shane
Schoeneberg has been named to the 2008 Daktronics Division II Baseball
West Region second-team.
Schoeneberg, a senior from Kennewick, WA, led the
Saints with a .392 batting average and a .687 slugging percentage, both
third in the GNAC. He was second in the conference in stolen bases with
23 and third in home runs with nine.
He led the Saints in all aforementioned categories
as well as runs scored (46), hits (65), doubles (12), and runs batted in
(39).
Schoeneberg, who missed all of the 2006 season
because of Tommy John surgery, finishes his collegiate career with a
.323 batting average, .486 slugging percentage, 161 hits and 81 runs
batted in.
“Shane deserves this,’ said head coach Joe Dominiak.
“He has put in a lot of extra time and it has paid off. I am very proud
of him; I know that anything he puts his mind to he will succeed at.”
