The Peter V. Vale Scholarship was established as a living memorial to
Peter V. Vale, supporter, trustee and friend of Saint Martin's
University. He was a founding partner of Knight, Vale and Gregory,
Certified Public Accountants and a supporter of many other humanitarian
and civic causes.
Specific criteria for the award of this scholarship is scholastic
achievement, leadership, character, citizenship and motivation.
Financial need is not necessarily a criteria. The applicant must be
accepted into the MBA program and have a strong academic background.
The amount of the award depends on the investment return from a
$50,000 endowment established by the Cheney Foundation. The award is for
a maximum amount to be applied to tuition and books and is not a cash
award. The award can be used for expenses incurred by the recipient
during a single, specific academic year (e.g. 2012-2013 academic year)
and is prorated equally over the terms in that year for which the
recipient intends to register.
In order to apply for the Vale scholarship, applicants must submit
the following items to the address below:
- Personal statement outlining goals and expectations
- Three letters of recommendation addressing academic
accomplishment and community service.
