Specific questions about financial aid should be directed to the Saint Martin's University office of financial aid.

Federal financial aid is available for graduate students who will be enrolled at least half time and are citizens, or eligible non-citizens, of the USA. Most federal aid for graduate students is in the form of direct loans. For more details about federal aid eligibility and the different types of aid available for graduate and professional studies visit: studentaid.edu.gov.

Steps for applying for federal graduate financial aid:

Priority deadline: March 1 for new students, April 15 for returning students. Students can apply after the priority deadline.

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.ed.gov. Saint Martin's University school code is 003794.
  • Receive your "financial aid package" from the Saint Martin's University financial aid office. Carefully review and accept or decline the types of aid that are offered and follow the directions provided.

Deadline: March 1

The Peter V. Vale Scholarship was established as a living memorial to Peter V. Vale, supporter, trustee and friend of Saint Martin's University. He was a founding partner of Knight, Vale and Gregory, Certified Public Accountants and a supporter of many other humanitarian and civic causes.

Specific criteria for the award of this scholarship is scholastic achievement, leadership, character, citizenship and motivation. Financial need is not necessarily a criteria. The applicant must be accepted into the MBA program and have a strong academic background.

The amount of the award depends on the investment return from a $50,000 endowment established by the Cheney Foundation. The award is for a maximum amount to be applied to tuition and books and is not a cash award. The award can be used for expenses incurred by the recipient during a single, specific academic year (e.g. 2012-2013 academic year) and is prorated equally over the terms in that year for which the recipient intends to register.

In order to apply for the Vale scholarship, applicants must submit the following items to the address below:

  • Completed application form
  • Personal statement outlining goals and expectations
  • Three letters of recommendation addressing academic accomplishment and community service.
