The Library Committee is defined in 1.7.8 of the Saint Martin's Faculty/Staff Handbook:

1.7.8 Library Committee:

Membership:

University Librarian (Chair)
Director of Institutional Technology (ex officio)
Seven (7) faculty members -- one (1) elected by each academic division and one (1) elected by the Graduate Program Directors Council.

Terms of Office:  Faculty members are elected for three (3) year, staggered terms.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Library Committee provides direction and assistance to the University Librarian in;

  1. the development of policies;
  2. in the evaluation of current programs and services, as well as planning for new ones;
  3. the allocation of funds for collection development purposes; and
  4. in the formulation of budget and staffing requirements related for the operation of the library.

Procedures: Procedures for the Library Committee's deliberations are determined by the Committee itself.
