Moodle minimum
Every Saint Martin's course will have a
Moodle course created and students enrolled. When created, the
courses will be hidden from students, so that faculty will have an
opportunity to add content prior to students logging in. As the
"Moodle minimum," all courses should eventually have the following:
- Syllabus. Administrative assistants will be trained to
load a syllabus, should some faculty members prefer not to use
Moodle themselves.
- Course evaluation form. This will be included
automatically in each Moodle course, albeit "hidden". Faculty (or their
division's administrative assistant) will need to adjust the dates the
evaluation will be available for students. All online courses
will use the online course evaluation form. Other faculty will
have the option of piloting the form or continuing to use the paper
form. Faculty will not have access to the results until after grades
are due. Currently use of the online evaluation form is at
the discretion of each division's dean.
The Moodle minimum will give students a single place
to look for their course syllabus and any online course materials. Those
faculty wishing to use their faculty homepage or a publisher's site for
course materials can easily include a link directing their students to
this resource in the Moodle course.
