Program mission statement
The Office of Marketing and Communications builds and supports the
University, its relationships with constituents and its image through
publications, events and public relations endeavors. The office promotes
Saint Martin’s core themes of faith, reason, service and community through
its assistance with University offices, departments, programs and functions
and its communication with the University’s internal and external audiences.
Program goals, objectives and outcomes
Saint Martin’s Office of Marketing and Communications is committed to
representing the mission, values and offerings of the University to all
constituents, internal and external. As part of this commitment, the Office
of Marketing and Communications staff aims to deliver outstanding customer
service that is deeply rooted in the Benedictine values of community,
hospitality, listening, stability, stewardship, respect for others, and
dignity of work. The three following goals and corresponding outcomes guide
the work of Office of Marketing and Communications:
Knowledge
The Office of Marketing and Communications will introduce, build and
preserve among its internal and external constituents an awareness of the
Saint Martin’s University’s brand.
- A University-wide commitment to the "promise" of the Saint Martin’s
brand will increase as a result of partnerships between the Marketing
and Communications staff and internal constituents.
- Through sustained communications with media and community partners,
the University brand — as represented by the "Saint Martin’s story" —
will reach a broad public audience.
- Constituents who work with the Marketing and Communications staff
will demonstrate an increased knowledge of and attentiveness to the
University’s brand and style guidelines.
Skills
The Office of Marketing and Communications will support its internal
constituents by providing consultation, training, services and products to
help strengthen the overall image of the University.
- Content management in print- and web-based communications, as well
as official University events, will improve as a result of the Marketing
and Communications staff developing and offering outreach programs for
staff, faculty and students.
- Working closely with staff and faculty, the Marketing and
Communications staff will produce and manage high-quality, high-impact
events and communication pieces.
- Constituents who work with the Marketing and Communications staff
will report an increased ability to communicate effectively about
departmental goals and programmatic offerings.
Disposition
The Office of Marketing and Communications will unify the University
community by promoting its Catholic, Benedictine identity, reinforcing its
Benedictine values and advancing its mission through traditional and new
media.
- Through the development of a variety of new and existing materials,
products and events, the values and mission of the University will be
more visible in the community.
- In collaboration with other offices, the Marketing and
Communications staff will help organize and facilitate conversation
opportunities focused on identity and mission.
- Constituents will report an increased awareness of the community’s
values and mission.
