Scott Andrew Schulz, Ph.D. became dean of enrollment at Saint
Martin’s University in June 2012, having served as director of
admissions since July 2011. As dean, he oversees the recruitment of
first-year and transfer students, as well as efforts to improve
retention and graduation rates.
Schulz has published in many journals and is active in
professional associations, including the College Board’s Task Force
for Admissions in the 21st Century.
Prior to joining the Saint Martin’s community, he served as
program director for the Center for Enrollment Research, Policy, and
Practice at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. At
USC, Schulz analyzed policy and conducted research on enrollment and
retention trends at colleges and universities nationwide to help
enrollment professionals improve their practices. He also developed
conferences and symposia that focused on coordinating federal, state
and institutional enrollment and student aid policies in the public
interest.
Schulz holds a doctorate in higher education and a bachelor’s
degree in communication, both from the University of Arizona.
