Kathy is currently working as an independent consultant. She
specializes in team building, mentoring and coaching emerging talent
and enhanced business decision making. She is adept at spotting
market trends and developing strategies for business expansion
across service sectors. She has a passion for collaborative
leadership, driving the soul into business operations while
improving financial results.
She traveled extensively in rural Africa and India as a Senior
Program Officer with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a member
of the Agricultural Development Team where she was responsible for a
portfolio of investments for reducing poverty through affordable
water management systems. The portfolio focused on
understanding the needs of small plot farmers, most of whom are
women, focused on agriculture water management to help poor farmers
become food secure, improve their livelihoods, and ultimately to
help farmers be resilient to environmental and market disruptions.
Prior to joining the foundation, she was Senior VP of CH2M Hill's
Northwest Region comprised of offices in six states. She was
responsible for the integration of services and overall financial
performance of the firm's businesses region-wide. She managed
complex multidisciplinary technical investigations, negotiated
solutions with regulatory agencies, and led progressively larger
business units within the firm.
