Billing
Billing statements
Billing statements are mailed out the first week of the month.
Students can view their account activity in "real time" through their
online student portal (Self-Service).
Payments and payment plans
Payments are due by the first day of the term. Students and families
can set up a monthly payment plan for the term or the school year (fall
and spring) through Tuition Management Systems.
There is a $50 processing fee to initiate a monthly payment plan. To
sign up for a monthly plan with Tuition Management Systems:
Contact TMS: 1-800-722-4867 or apply online at
www.afford.com/stmartin.
Book vouchers
If you are expecting a refund from your financial aid, you are
eligible to receive a book voucher. The book voucher allows you to
charge your books and supplies from the SMU Bookstore to your student
account and have the costs deducted from your aid. Book vouchers can
only be issued after the first day of the semester.
Refunds
Refunds are processed within 30 days of the date the credit balance
is reflected. Students will need to submit a
refund request form to
indicate if they would like their refund mailed to them or if they
prefer to pick-up their refund check at the Student Financial Services
Office.
Refund checks are made available on Fridays and are available after 1
pm for pick-up. Refunds are mailed to the permanent address on file
unless a refund authorization form indicates a separate address.
Emergency short term loan (E-loan)
An emergency short-term loan is available to students who are
expecting a financial aid refund and need funds to help cover housing or
book costs. Short term loans may be awarded up to $500; provided the
student's expected refund is at least that amount. Short term loans are
limited to one per semester. We are unable to issue short term loans
prior to the first day of the semester. Please contact our office for
more information.
Check cashing
Students can cash personal checks up to $30. Saint Martin's
University employees may cash personal checks up to $50.
Student federal work-study checks
Student paychecks are available on the last working day of the month
and are available for pick-up in the Student Financial Services Center
after 1pm. Automatic deposit encouraged and can be arranged through the
