Sociology and cultural anthropology
The sociology and cultural anthropology program is an
interdisciplinary major designed to prepare students for working in
a variety of fields including sociological consulting, applied
anthropology consulting, museum studies and a variety of public
service careers in both the public and private sector. Students in
the sociology and cultural anthropology program gain a broad-based
education in critical reasoning and writing skills through the study
of culture and society. The sociology and cultural anthropology
major also serves the professional requirements of other departments
by examining the impact of culture, ethnicity, race and
stratification in contemporary society.
