The Office of Student Accounts is committed to assisting students throughout their education at Saint Martin's University. The university offers a monthly payment plan in order to make students' financial experiences as positive as possible. The following services are available during office hours: Check cashing: Students can cash personal checks up to $30. Employees can cash personal checks up to $50. Payments: Payment for the semester is due by the first day of the semester. (see below for monthly plan information) All payments made on students' accounts are processed through this office including monthly payments. Deposits for housing and tuition are receipted through this office as well. Payment plans: Beginning with the fall 2005 semester, students can make a monthly payment plan for the semester or the year (fall and spring) through Key Education Resources. Key offers a convenient way to pay educational expenses by paying monthly rather than all at once. Students need to be familiar with calculating their budget for the semester. Work study and student employment awards are not used in the calculation and all direct loans are subject to a 1.5 percent processing fee through the federal government. This 1.5 percent should be deducted from the loan when budgeting. Federal plus loans are assessed 3 percent through the federal government. If the calculation results in a balance due, and a monthly payment plan is desired, students (and/or parents) may apply for a monthly plan with Key Education Resources. More information regarding applying for this plan will be available soon. Student work study checks: Student paychecks are available the last working day of the month and are picked up in the Student Accounts Office. Refunds: Refunds are processed within 30 days of the date the credit balance is reflected. Refunds are processed weekly on Fridays, and are available after 1 p.m.
