Lacey, Wash. - Saint Martin's College is pleased to welcome a
new director to manage the Extension Campuses at Fort Lewis Army
Base and McChord Air Force Base.
Cindy Richard, the former director of extended
campuses for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, has
been named the director of the Fort Lewis and McChord
Extension Campuses. Richard, who succeeds Linda
Fletcher, began at the start of the August term and is
already working on developing ways to better incorporate
the military campus community with the college's main
campus in Lacey.
"I would like to bridge the gap between the main campus and
the bases by providing more opportunities for activities between
students at the three campuses," Richard said. "The students at
the military campus have a lot of wisdom and experience to share
with the greater community."
Richard, 44, is originally from New Haven, Conn. and came to
the Pacific Northwest with her husband, a pilot for the Air
Force. She was most recently stationed in Enid, Okla. where she
was the director of extended campuses, a study skills instructor
and an instructor for Embry Riddle. Prior to that she was the
preschool director with the United States Military Academy at
West Point.
Richard has a masters degree in education, a bachelors degree
in psychology and an associates degree in early childhood
education.
