Saint Martin's names new compliance and sports information officer

Lacey, Wash. - Saint Martin's College has named Mark McGreevy as its new NCAA Division II compliance officer and sports information officer.

Before coming to Saint Martin’s, he served as a compliance intern for the University of California, Riverside, and as a social studies instructor, counselor and administrator for a residential high school at Running Springs, Calif.

As the college’s compliance officer, he monitors Saint Martin’s compliance with NCAA Division II rules and regulations. His compliance duties include helping in the development and review of college policies and procedures related to compliance matters, maintaining the college’s athletic records and educating coaches and athletes and other staff members about NCAA rules and rule changes.

In his role as sports information officer, he serves as the college’s primary media contact for sports information, as well as produce media guides and maintain the athletics portion of the college’s website.

The college, a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, participates in NCAA Division II women’s softball, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, golf, track and field and in men’s baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf and track and field.

McGreevy earned his master’s degree in education - sports leadership, from California Baptist University, Riverside, and has a bachelor’s degree in geography from California State University, San Bernardino.

McGreevy, who has coached boys’ basketball and volleyball, served as an assistant director of operations for the Pacific Coast League, a job that included media relations and enforcement of league rules and regulations for a Triple-A class professional baseball league. His career has included nine years’ experience as an educator, administrator and sports specialist, including teaching and administrative work at Marist College Preparatory, a private boys’ high school in Pago Pago, American Samoa. He is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
