Saint Martin's College promotes two faculty members

Lacey - Saint Martin’s College has
granted promotions in rank to two faculty members, effective with the
2004-05 academic year. Receiving promotions from associate professor to
full professor are:
- Huabin Chen, Ph.D., also a member of
the college’s education division. Chen, who is director of technology in
education programs at Saint Martin’s, has expertise in math and science
methods, educational technology and environmental science education. He
is the primary author of a Chinese textbook, “The Theory of Elementary
Science Teaching Methods,” that has been adopted by all Chinese
universities and colleges for students majoring in elementary education.
- Cynthia Petersen, Ph.D., a member of
the college’s education division. Petersen is director of special
education programs for the college and is a specialist in inclusionary
programs, learning styles and at-risk students. She also received the
Monks of Saint Martin’s Abbey Outstanding Faculty Award for the 2003-04
academic year.
