Saint Martin's University to present Hope Concert
April 11, 2006
Lacey – The Saint Martin’s University department of
music will present the Hope concert on April 21, 7:30 p.m., at the Saint
Martin’s Pavilion, 5300 Pacific Ave. S.E., Lacey.
The 50-voice Saint Martin’s University Chorale, and
student solo and duet singers will perform a variety music: gospel,
musical theater, pop, and original compositions, and singers will be
accompanied by a band. Tying in the music with the Hope theme is a
multi-media presentation featuring original artwork by Brother Luke
Devine, O.S.B., of Saint Martin’s Abbey. Guest performer for the evening
is Dame Ima Ditts.
Admission is free; donations will be accepted.
Donations will benefit Saint Martin’s campus ministry. The funds raised
will help 17 Saint Martin’s University students, one faculty member and
two staff, travel to Birmingham, Alabama, in May to build a home for
Habitat for Humanity. They will work on the house for one week. Students
have been raising funds for this community service trip since fall.
