Dr. Juan Flores named Dean of Admissions and Student
Financial Services

Lacey, Washington - Saint Martin’s University has appointed
Juan Flores, Ph.D., to the newly created post of dean of
admissions and student financial services.
Flores was named as the University’s director of admissions
in August. In that position, he is responsible for creating a
diverse and academically prepared student body. In his new post,
he also will oversee student financial services, a key role that
helps potential Saint Martin’s students finance their education
and is crucial to student retention.
“In the short time Dr. Flores has been here, he has brought
new direction and a clear vision for the recruitment of
students,” said Saint Martin’s President Roy Heynderickx, Ph.D.
Flores earned his doctorate in leadership studies from
Gonzaga University. He has a master of education degree in
educational leadership from the University of Portland and
received his undergraduate degree in biology from Colgate
University. He has extensive work experience in both secondary
and higher education.
Saint Martin’s University is an independent four-year,
Catholic, coeducational university located on a 380-acre wooded
campus in Lacey, Washington. Established in 1895 by the Catholic
Order of Saint Benedict, the University is one of 18 Benedictine
colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and
the only one west of the Rocky Mountains. Saint Martin’s
University prepares students for successful lives through its 22
majors and six graduate programs spanning the liberal arts,
business, education, and engineering. Saint Martin’s welcomes
1,250 students from many ethnic and religious backgrounds to its
