Alumni returning to campus and classrooms for Saint Martin’s Reunion Weekend 2011
September 20, 2011
Lacey, Washington — Saint Martin’s alumni will be returning to the University’s Lacey campus
this weekend to enroll in “classes without quizzes,” major in reminiscing about days gone by, and
minor in rekindling old friendships. The Saint Martin’s University Reunion Weekend 2011 takes place
Friday, Sept. 23, through Sunday, Sept. 25, with several activities designed to reconnect alumni
with one another and with their alma mater.
The fun starts Friday afternoon with coffee at The Monk’s Bean lounge in Harned Hall, then moves
into the classroom, where attendees will enjoy entertaining (and quiz-free) math and history
lessons. Friday night closes with a Welcome Home Barbecue in front of Old Main. Saturday events
include an Alumni Association meeting, classes (again, quiz-free!) on the “religion of sports”
and college admissions, a class recognition luncheon, campus tours, and a dinner featuring the
best of local standup comedy. The weekend will conclude Sunday with morning Mass in the Abbey
Church, followed by a champagne brunch hosted by President Roy F. Heynderickx, Ph.D., and his wife,
Kathleen.
Reservations are still being accepted for Reunion Weekend events. For more information, contact
