Saint Martin’s weekend of welcome

Over 175 freshman students plus their families arrived to Saint Martin’s University, Thursday morning August 21 to begin Fall Welcome Weekend for the 2008-2009 academic year. Students moved their belongings by the car loads into Baron Hall and the brand new addition on campus, Parsons Hall. More than 80 volunteers, including SMU students, faculty, staff and orientation leaders assisted the new freshman and their families in clearing out the vehicles and filling up the rooms. The “Move in Crew” hauled boxes, suitcases, food and miscellaneous items up two or three flights of stairs while students and parents checked in, received room keys and schedules for the rest of the weekend activities. Classes begin for all SMU students on Monday, August 25.
