Women's soccer first home game
On October 14, the Women’s soccer team
hosted SPU for their first game on the new soccer field. Seattle
Pacific got a goal in each half to beat Saint Martin’s 2-0.
While SPU held a commanding lead on shots in the first half at
12-3 but SMU sent more shots at the goal in the second, 8-5.
Ashley Engel picked up three save in goal for the Saints while
Maddie Dickinson had six in goal for SPU. “We would have like to
open with a win today but anytime you host a team like SPU
you’re going to get something out of it,” said head coach Rob
Walker. “I think we can measure ourselves and measure our
progress. We had some good chances today and proved that with a
little better defending and passing we can get more chances
against quality opposition.”
